ABSTRACT
This paper explores how established natural gas interests responded to climate action in the European Union. Climate policy was initially not anticipated to reduce the role of natural gas in the energy system, if anything, many presumed that it would come to play a larger role. It was widely understood to be the transition fuel, entailing that it could substitute more carbon-intensive source-fuels, such as coal, as society decarbonises. This narrative complemented natural gas industry incumbents’ other forms of power, including their control over resources, infrastructure, and involvement in the policy-making process. Drawing on these, they presumed that their future was ensured in the shift towards a low carbon energy system. As the EU enhanced climate targets, incumbents were forced to adapt the fuel’s discourse according to the changing context. Incumbents deployed their material, organisational, and discursive power to extend the status quo and accommodate pressure to enact far-reaching change – a process Gramsci refers to as trasformismo. By tracing the natural gas industry’s response to climate action, this paper shows how incumbents draw upon their fuel-specific bases of power and it explores the importance of discourses in shaping the trajectory of the energy transition.
Introduction
The EU’s bid to meet its climate targets have led it to reconsider the role natural gas can play in its energy system. Decarbonisation drives the reconfiguration of its energy system, which carries immense ramifications for fossil fuel interests. To counter their demise, they have drawn on their powers to resist change or maintain their relevance. This article explores how natural gas interests respond to climate action in the EU and proposes that the transition fuel discourse has been essential to ensure what many thought was the fuel’s stable role in the energy mix for decades to come. The rising stringency of climate action has led policy-makers to question this role, which prompted actors from within the sector to adapt their narratives as well as leverage other forms of power to ensure the survival of their industry. The threat of climate change requires swift and effective action, which includes the elimination of carbon-intensive energy production. In a report commissioned by Friends of the Earth Europe, Anderson and Broderick ([1]: 43) underscore this when writing that “fossil fuels, including natural gas [emphasis added], can have no substantial role in an EU 2 ◦C energy system beyond 2035”.

Abstract
Drastic events such as pandemics, earthquakes or other disasters threaten not only the immediate living conditions of people but also indirect circumstances such as energy supply, infrastructure and food production. To ensure that damage and failures in these areas do not lead to a disaster, special requirements are placed on this critical infrastructure. In this context resilience, which is defined as the resistance of a system to external effects, is required. A field that is indeed part of the critical infrastructure, but which has not been considered as intensively as the energy sector, is food production. The investigation focuses on how fundamental principles of thermodynamics, system theory and reliability theory can be applied to the modelling of food production processes to obtain a measure of resilience. Using known state and process variables from thermodynamics and electrical power engineering, analogous variables are derived for the food industry. These variables serve as an evaluation standard for a quality measure ?. In addition to system-theoretical considerations, it is investigated how existing evaluation criteria of power engineering, such as System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and Customer Average Interruption Duration Index (CAIDI), can be transferred to food production. Design: The investigation focuses on how fundamental principles of thermodynamics, system theory and reliability theory can be applied to the modelling of food production processes to obtain a measure of resilience. Using known state and process variables from thermodynamics and electrical power engineering, analogous variables are derived for the food industry. Abstract
Factors influencing brain function and cognitive performance can be critical to athletic performance of esports athletes. This review aims to discuss the potential beneficial effects of micronutrients, i.e., vitamins, minerals and biologically active substances on cognitive functions of e-athletes. Minerals (iodine, zinc, iron, magnesium) and vitamins (B vitamins, vitamins E, D, and C) are significant factors that positively influence cognitive functions. Prevention of deficiencies of the listed ingredients and regular examinations can support cognitive processes. The beneficial effects of caffeine, creatine, and probiotics have been documented so far. There are many plant products, herbal extracts, or phytonutrients that have been shown to affect precognitive activity, but more research is needed. Beetroot juice and nootropics can also be essential nutrients for cognitive performance. For the sake of players’ eyesight, it would be useful to use lutein, which, in addition to improving vision and protecting against eye diseases, can also affect cognitive functions. In supporting the physical and mental abilities of e-athletes the base is a well-balanced diet with adequate hydration. There is a lack of sufficient evidence that has investigated the relationship between dietary effects and improved performance in esports. Therefore, there is a need for randomized controlled trials involving esports players.
Introduction
The increasingly frequent incidence of neurodegenerative diseases and the lack of an effective method for their treatment have resulted in an increased interest in dietary supplements to improve cognitive functions and prevent their decline [1]. A micronutrient deficit can lead to a decrease in cognitive abilities, which also deteriorate with age. Not only the elderly but also young and middle-aged people are exposed to micronutrient deficiencies due to their demanding lifestyles and insufficient diets [2]. Therefore, it is suggested that e-athletes may also be at risk. In general opinion, esports (electronic sport) is a relatively new and rapidly growing sport involving players competing in video game tournaments. Although the genesis of e-tournaments was in the 1970s, the first professional competition started in 1997 [3]. Currently, this discipline is becoming more and more popular among players and viewers [4]. The global audience for esports competitions in 2019 had 443 million viewers, which translated into a market value of USD 68.2 billion [5]. It is estimated that the popularity of esports will grow in subsequent years [6]. Although women participate in esports, men continue to dominate the field [7].

Introduction
As one of the core technologies of the Internet of Things, mobile sensor networks have received more and more attention from researchers in recent years. Node location is a key function of many applications in mobile sensor networks, such as environmental monitoring, wild animal tracking, and medical patient monitoring applications, and location has become one of the most basic business functions [1]. A large number of sensors communicate with each other, process, and transmit information through a network of wireless communication, which can monitor, perceive, and collect various environmental information or information about monitored objects in the network distribution area in real time and process and transmit this information to required users. Different body compositions have different effects on exercise performance. Lean body mass is positively correlated with physical strength, aerobic capacity, and maximum oxygen uptake. It is one of the main factors affecting explosive power, speed, and endurance. It is generally believed that absolute strength is directly proportional to lean body mass. Weight grading, heavy athletic events thatfocus on strength and explosiveness have high requirements for lean body mass; excess body fat in the body is considered a “dead” weight, which will affect a person’s strength, speed, and endurance. The body fat percentage is significantly negatively correlated with the peak anaerobic power, and the anaerobic capacity of the two energy supply systems including phosphate and glycolysis is the energy basis for all shortterm high-intensity exercise. This shows that body composition has a close relationship with sports competition [2].

ABSTRACT
This cross‐sectional study aimed to determine job satisfaction among the Jordanian dietitians, the factors associated with job satisfaction, and the relationship between job satisfaction and intent to stay. A convenience sample of 600 dieticians performed a self‐reported online survey. Most of the participants were females (83.2%), <30 years of age (68.3%) with a BSc degree in nutrition (77.3%). Results revealed that 20% of the dietitians were dissatisfied at work, 69.8% were neither dissatisfied nor satisfied, and 10.2% were satisfied. The satisfaction for the total score in all examined domains was neither dissatisfaction nor satisfaction, except for the salary. Participants with higher monthly salaries were 1.53 more likely to have higher job satisfaction than those with lower monthly salaries (CI 95%, (0.503–2.55)). Intention to stay was positively correlated with the total job satisfaction and all domains except the knowledge and skills domain (p‐value = 0.22). The main aspect that needs to be addressed and re‐evaluated is to improve dietitians job satisfaction is the salary. The findings of this study point to improving dietitians’ work status to attain the best possible health care achievements.
Introduction
Job satisfaction could be defined as employees’ attitude toward the company or firm, their job, their colleagues, and other factors that could relate to the work environment psychological atmosphere [1–4]. Job satisfaction can be set forth due to the positive reaction demonstrated toward the above mentioned factors, as well as hindered due to the negative interactions [5]. In addition, it is related to the intent to stay and it is an indicator of job quality and professional performance [3]. In the healthcare fields, job satisfaction is not only important for the institution professionals, but it also concerns all involved multidisciplinary parties including patients and clients [6].. This is because all these individuals could negatively impact the institution due to the low job satisfaction levels [3,6–10]. Job satisfaction level can range from maximum satisfaction to maximum dissatisfaction. However, this level is considered a dependent situation level, implying that it is based on individual functions and emotional and organizational variables [10]. Job recognition, salary, advancement opportunities, and achievement of personal goals have all been recognized as important factors in job satisfaction [2,4,6,8,9,11]. Salary is considered as the main influence for enhancing the job satisfaction level of employees [8,12].

ABSTRACT
Industry 4.0 is transforming the manufacturing industry and the economics of value creation. A great deal of positive hype has built up around the sustainable development implications of Industry 4.0 technologies during the past few years. Expectations regarding the opportunities that Industry 4.0 offers for sustainable manufacturing are significantly high, but the lack of accurate understanding of the process through which Industry 4.0 technologies enable sustainable manufacturing is a fundamental barrier for businesses pursuing digitalization and sustainable thinking. The present study addresses this knowledge gap by developing a roadmap that explains how Industry 4.0 and the underlying digital technologies can be leveraged to support and facilitate the triple bottom line of sustainable manufacturing. To this purpose, the study conducted a systematic literature review and identified 15 sustainability functions through which Industry 4.0 contributes to sustainable manufacturing. Interpretive structural modeling was further applied to identify the relationships that may exist within the sustainability functions. The resulting sustainable manufacturing roadmap explains how, and in which order, various Industry 4.0 sustainability functions contribute to developing the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainability. The resulting implications are expected to serve manufacturers, industrialists, and academia as a strategic guide for leveraging Industry 4.0 digital transformation to support sustainable development.
Introduction
Manufacturers worldwide struggle with the gradual increase in compliance, energy, and material costs, on top of stakeholders’ higher sustainability expectations (Jena et al., 2020). Sustainable manufacturing and operating in a more sustainably responsible manner are business imperatives for manufacturing competitiveness (Margherita and Braccini, 2020). World-class manufacturers have already taken necessary steps for better contributing to economic and socio-environmental development. The industrial report largely shows that sustainable manufacturing pioneers have been presented with better profit-making opportunities and improved competitiveness. On the other hand, smaller manufacturers have been mostly unable to embrace sustainable manufacturing opportunities (OECD, 2020). They usually struggle with short-term survival, particularly under excessive market turbulence (e.g., due to COVID 19 crisis) or lack of the necessary knowledge, strategy, and resources to embark on the sustainability journey (Virmani et al., 2020).

ABSTRACT
In this study, we present a technical and economic assessment of high-current HTS bus bars for primary use in fusion reactors. Our objective is to verify the technical feasibility of such conductors and, for this purpose, we carry out a conceptual design of 66 and 105 kA DC bus bars, e.g. as a potential solution for powering the European DEMO power plant. We employ commercial HTS tapes and reasonable (as well as conservative) assumptions on cooling configurations and costs. Then, we compute the material, manufacturing and operating costs of these bus bars, comparing them with conventional (i.e. Al) conductors. Different Al current densities are considered, showing their impact on the total costs and on their technical feasibility. The cumulative operating costs over a 30-year period, based on nowadays realistic values for electricity cost and discount rate, are then briefly compared and discussed. We believe the present work could be of interest in designing the power supply system of future fusion reactors and other high-current industrial applications.
Introduction
The use of high-temperature superconductors (HTS) in power transmission lines has gained a growing interest above all for their superior efficiency compared to conventional conductors. Therefore, several recent projects worldwide have demonstrated the successful application of HTS cables in power grids and substations [1–11]. A few research studies have been focused on the economic assessment of HTS cables, and, in particular, on their competitiveness with respect to conventional conductors. In general, the results have shown that operating HTS cables at LN2 temperatures is not always convenient with respect to conventional (i.e. Al or Cu) cables, especially if short line lengths and critical current densities below 106 kA m− 2 are considered [12,13]. Other authors, besides reducing the operating costs thanks to reduced power losses, have emphasised that HTS power transmission lines have the additional advantage of allowing lower voltage levels, thus bringing economic benefits also to auxiliary devices such as transformers and power switches [14,15]. In recent years, the improvement in the manufacturing technologies of HTS wires and tapes has allowed to reach larger critical currents. This has progressively decreased the HTS material costs (strictly speaking, their operating cost per unit length, measured in $ kA− 1 m− 1 ), making them more and more attractive for replacing conventional conductors [16]. Another point to be considered is the application cases that have been studied in the literature. The works mentioned above, in most of the cases, refer to HTS conductors for high-voltage and/or AC power grid applications, usually with small current ratings (e.g., in the order of few kA). Nevertheless, some industrial applications operate at lower voltage levels and larger currents, thus they could potentially benefit from an HTS-based solution.

ABSTRACT
Although electronic green supply chain management (e-GSCM) has been increasingly adopted into organizations, there is limited empirical research examining antecedents and consequences of e-GSCM implementation. By integrating resource-based and information system success perspectives, this study aims to examine how information technology (IT) resources (i.e., IT infrastructure, IT human and IT relationship resources) and quality attributes (i.e., system quality, information quality, and service quality) influence e-GSCM implementation, which in turn influences firm performance. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) is used to analyze the survey of 264 IT managers in large Taiwanese firms. The results show that IT human resources, IT relationship resources, system quality, and information quality significantly drive both e-GSCM internal integration and external collaboration. However, IT infrastructure resources only influence e-GSCM internal integration, and service quality only influences e-GSCM external collaboration. The results also demonstrate that both e-GSCM internal integration and external collaboration are conducive to superior environmental performance and firm competitiveness. Based on the findings, this study discusses the implications for researchers and practitioners.
Introduction
Due to both economic and environmental pressures, it has become increasingly important to adopt electronic green supply chain management (e-GSCM) which facilitates individuals, organizations, governments and society to transform towards effective sustainability initiatives [1–3]. E-GSCM is defined as an information technology (IT) enabled green innovation that uses IT to incorporate environmental considerations into supply chain processes and fulfill the environmental protection requirements [4–6]. Specific IT examples include adopting auto-identification technologies to real-time track and improve energy and resources flows [7,8], using cloud computing services to analyze and simulate environmental impact [9,10], and implementing joint decision support systems to foster environmental collaboration and coordination among supply chain partners [11,12]. E-GSCM is different from traditional IT-enabled SCM that focuses more on controlling the final product and economic concern as the single objective [13]. In contrast, e-GSCM concentrates on reducing the negative environmental impacts during production and distribution, while it takes into consideration economic, environment and social concerns as objectives [14–17]. Moreover, e-GSCM in organization is complex; it also involves the management and deployment of scalable IT resources and ensures high availability of IT-based services [5,18,19]. Therefore, identifying and understanding IT-related factors influencing e-GSCM implementation and its impact on firm performance is one of the fundamental requisites to successfully develop e-GSCM.

ABSTRACT
Sensitivity Analysis plays a significant role in voltage prediction and control of power networks. However, the classical sensitivity methods require significant computation time. As active distribution networks require realtime implementation for voltage control, reducing the computation time becomes a necessary task for network operators, especially in the context of optimization techniques. This work develops a new analytical and fast voltage sensitivity analysis method via the derivative of the nodal quantities (power, current and voltage) with respect to power injections. The proposed method mainly depends on the construction of the ABCD matrix. The values of the matrix elements remain the same regardless of the bus on which the power is injected. Thus, it has a high potential to be implemented in online applications. To make a complete separation between the sensitivities to active and the sensitivities to reactive power injections, the analytical formulations are expressed in Cartesian coordinates. A radial distribution network including several DG units is used to verify and assess the proposed sensitivity method under different scenarios.
Introduction
|Future Power grids will meet new challenges in voltage control due to the high penetration levels of Distributed Generation (DG) units [1]. DG units can be actively involved in power systems for voltage regulation [2]. Voltage control methods mainly depend on the relationship between the system voltages and control variables (i.e. power injections). The sensitivity analysis is usually used to find the voltage sensitivity coefficients with respect to nodal reactive and real power injections. These sensitivities can be actively used to manage control variables to solve voltage problems in an accurate way. Many approaches have been proposed in the literature to compute these sensitivities. One of the well-known approaches is based on the Jacobian matrix [3,4]. This approach is a classical method and depends on solving a Newton Raphson power flow [5]. The voltage sensitivities are found by taking the Jacobian matrix (J) inverse at one operating condition. However, the sensitivity coefficients have to be updated with any change in system state (e.g. changes of demand, generation, topology, and/or network parameters). This requires performing new Newton Raphson-based power flow calculations and, therefore, more computation time is required. Besides, convergence may not be obtained by this method. Such methods developed for transmission load flow studies are unsuitable for distribution systems due to poor convergence [6].

Abstract
Participatory governance is widely viewed as an essential element of realizing planned smart cities. Nonetheless, the implementation of e-participation platforms, such as the websites and mobile applications of civic authorities, often offer ambiguous information on how public voices may influence e-decision-making. This study aims to examine the status of participatory governance from the angle of e-participation platforms and from the broader scope of linking e-platforms to a smart city blueprint. In order to achieve this aim, the study focuses on shedding light on the e-governance space given to smart city realization in a developing country context—i.e., Malaysia. The Putrajaya and Petaling Jaya smart cities of Malaysia were selected as the testbeds of the study, which used the multiple case study methodology and multiple data collection designs. The analyses were done through the qualitative observations and quantitative descriptive statistics. The results revealed that both of the investigated smart city cases remained limited in their provision of e-decision-making space. The inefficiency of implementing planned initiatives to link the city blueprints to e-platforms was also evidenced. The study evidenced that the political culture of e-decision-making is undersized in Malaysia, which hinders the achievement of e-democracy in the smart cities’ development. This study has contributed a case report on a developing country’s smart cities, covering the participatory issues from the angle of e-participation and e-platforms.
Introduction
With the global trend of the development of smart sustainable cities, participatory governance has played a substantial role in achieving the smart state [1,2]. This is evident in the definition of realizing a smart city given by [3], that “a city [becomes] smart when investments in human and social capital and traditional (transport) and modern (ICT) communication infrastructure fuel sustainable economic growth and a high quality of life, with a wise management of natural resources, through participatory governance”. Furthermore, in the seminal work of [4], smart governance mainly refers to participatory governance, which emphasizes participation in decision-making and transparency through new communication channels for the citizen to use, i.e., e-government. In the conception of [5], e-government consists of delivering online services to citizens, the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure and human capital development. In particular, to provide online services, e-government needs to activate and facilitate its citizens’ participation in e-platforms such as websites, mobile applications, social medias and other Internet-of-Things (IoT) platforms [6,7]. The design of e-platforms through e-participation must consider three levels, namely e-decision-making, e-consultation, and einformation [5].

ABSTRACT
This paper will present the shear behavior of the corroded stirrups reinforced concrete (RC) beams strengthened with textile reinforced concrete (TRC). The shear resistance contributions from the corroded RC beams and carbon TRC at various volume ratios were carefully examined. Eighteen beams were tested, including twelve subjected by an electrochemically accelerated aging technique for 60 and 90 days to obtain the theoretical mass loss in their stirrups of 10% and 20%, respectively. The stirrups were locally corroded in the shear span. After the corrosion accelerating treatment, corrosion cracks on concrete surfaces were marked, and their widths were measured to observe their distributions. A three-point bending test was applied to obtain the shear performances of the corroded beams subjected to the monotonic and repeated loading. Eight corroded RC beams were strengthened using 2 and 3 U-wrap layers of bidirectional carbon textile. The shear behavior will be discussed, including the ultimate capacity, failure mode, loaddeflection, load–strain relationship, and crack distributions. Compared to the controlled specimens, the averaged shear strength of corroded specimens decreased by 16.08% and 25.34%, corresponding to the degree of corrosion ranging from 12.3% to 23.6%. The experimental results also demonstrate that the shear capacities of the corroded RC beams strengthened with carbon TRC had been improved 60.6% compared to the severely corroded controlled specimens.
Introduction
Deficiencies in existing RC structures may become serious due to natural ageing, increased required load capacity, deterioration caused by corrosion, and other causes. Corrosion of embedded reinforcing steel is widely accepted as the primary contributor causing premature damage of RC structures, including reducing steel reinforcement area, loss of bond strength, and loss of concrete area, influencing the concrete cover and cross-section. Currently, there are numerous methods available to retrofit RC beams in flexure and shear, each with relative advantages and weaknesses. The most preferable, efficient and practised techniques for shear strengthening are RC jacketing and FRP wrapping [1]. However, using section enlargement with RC to enhance shear capacity, the thickness of the jacket, in typical cases higher than 70–100 mm, leads to the increased total mass of the structure and decreasing esthetics in architecture. This method is also not very suitable for RC structures in corrosive environments. In contrast, FRP wrapping has advantages over concrete jacketing methods such as less thickness, lower weight and better constructability.

ABSTRACT
This study investigates how small, resource-constrained firms identify international marketing strategies for perishable products. Although international marketing of perishable products poses challenges for the exporter, many small companies manage to survive and thrive on an international business arena. Over the past decades, there has been a growing interest in how small firms design their international marketing channels. However, little is known about the conditions leading to the choice of a particular exchange modality. Drawing from the contingency framework, we investigate the role of firm-specific and industry-related factors in the choice of exchange mode among resource-constrained exporters. Based on insights from the Norwegian seafood industry, we introduce a contingency framework and develop a typology of exchange modalities. We suggest that resourceconstrained exporters are inclined to engage in a succession of transactional exchanges. We offer propositions on the choice among alternative exchange modalities contingent upon firm and industry factors.
Introduction
The importance of commercial distribution and the design of international marketing channels for companies – small or large – have been addressed by scholars for over a half-century (Hoppner & Griffith, 2015; Morgan et al., 2004). Finding efficient and apt marketing channels is critical for the success of the producing company in order to reach its target customers in the best possible way (Watson et al., 2015). Conventional knowledge seems to rely, by and large, on the evidence from larger companies and their channel strategies. We raise the question of whether it applies to small, resource-constrained companies oriented towards international markets. Compared to large international firms, small exporters are typically constrained by scarce financial and human resources and often more limited foreign market expertise (Brouthers et al., 2009; Majocchi & Zucchella, 2003). Unlike larger rivals, small firms lack abundant and deeply rooted administrative heritage (Collis, 1991; Knight & Cavusgil, 2004), forcing them to contend with limited strategic tools. However, limited administrative heritage allows them to develop greater agility and flexibility in international markets (Knight & Cavusgil, 2004).

Abstract
Prior research has shown that that management control practices change in response to global crises, yet we have little understanding of the behavioral consequences of these changes. The purpose of this study is to explore the behavioral effects that stem from crisis-induced changes to management control practices and the factors that intensify or diminish these effects. Using survey data from business unit managers in the Netherlands, our results show that firms tighten their budget controls in response to a negative impact of Covid-19. In turn, the tightening of budget controls is positively associated with employees’ emotional exhaustion because of increased perceptions of role ambiguity and role conflict. We furthermore find that the effect of tighter budget controls on role ambiguity is mitigated when managers perceive that the budget controls are used in an enabling way prior to the crisis but heightened with increased trust in senior management. These results suggest that if firms use their budgets to help managers acquire a deeper understanding of their tasks and responsibilities, they are better able to respond to a negative shock and the accompanying tightening of budget controls, which helps mitigate the undesired behavioral response of increased role ambiguity and emotional exhaustion. Our findings also suggest that trust, which usually is beneficial to organizations, has a ‘dark’ side in that managers will push themselves harder to reciprocate the trust they have in their senior managers, which exacerbates the effect of tighter budget controls on role ambiguity and, in turn, emotional exhaustion.
Introduction
In answer to calls from prominent researchers (Hopwood, 2009; Van der Stede, 2011), several studies have shown that that management control (MC) practices change in response to global crises as firms attempt to manage the accompanying uncertainty and financial strain (Asel, Posch & Speckbacher, 2010; Becker, Mahlendorf, Schäffer & Thaten, 2016; Casas-Arce, Indjejikian & Matějka, 2020; Janke, Mahlendorf & Weber, 2014). A particularly common shortterm response is to centralize decision-making and to intensify control (Czarniawska-Joerges, 1988, Milburn, Schuler & Watman, 1983, Staw, Sandelands & Dutton, 1981). However, our knowledge of the behavioral effects of these responses remains limited (Van der Stede, 2011). The purpose of this study is to develop more comprehensive insights into the effects of intensifying control in response to a crisis. Focusing on the budget as a central component of the MC package of most firms, we examine the following research questions: How do firms change budget tightness in response to a global crisis and what are the implications for employee stress and emotional exhaustion? Moreover, under what conditions are those stressors either mitigated or exacerbated? The management and organization literatures define an organizational crisis as an event that “(1) threatens high-priority values of the organization, (2) presents a restricted amount of time in which a response can be made, and (3) is unexpected or unanticipated by the organization” (Hermann, 1963, p. 64).
